We’re thrilled to expand our team with five outstanding new coaches who bring exceptional experience, passion, and a commitment to player and personal development. Join us in welcoming them to the SoCal Reds family!

Kennedy Heywood

With USSF Grassroots, D, and C licenses, Kennedy brings playing experience from Fullerton College Women’s Soccer and has coached with AYSO United (where she also served as E64 Operations Director) and Pateadores. She values trust, communication, and accountability—both on and off the field—and holds herself and her players to high standards. Kennedy is excited to join SoCal Reds because of the club’s organized, structured environment that fosters both personal growth and quality performance on the field.

Favorite player: Sydney Leroux – “Her energy and passion on the field are contagious.”

Favorite food: Italian

Alonso Barragan

A National D License holder, Alonso has played for clubs such as United Kingdom FC, Orange County FC, Santa Ana Winds, OC Kings, and SoCal United. His coaching background includes West Coast FC, AYSO Extra, Surf FC, and various high schools. His philosophy centers around educating not just good athletes but good people. Alonso was drawn to SoCal Reds because of the club’s focus on holistic development—shaping strong character as well as competitive players.

Favorite player: Joe Hart – “His leadership and ability to inspire those around him.”

Favorite food: Peruvian ceviche

Sergio Vasquez

Sergio holds a USSF National C License and United Soccer Coaches Goalkeeping 1 & 2 certifications. He played four years of varsity at Loara High School and two years at Cypress College. With coaching experience at NHB FC, Strikers, FC North, Blue FC, and El Dorado High School, Sergio emphasizes effort and learning from mistakes. He was drawn to SoCal Reds because it mirrors the kind of support and mentorship he received as a young player—where coaches care deeply about players both on and off the pitch.

Favorite player: Jared Borgetti – “He combined technical skill, physical strength, mental toughness, and incredible soccer IQ.”

Favorite food: Mexican

Artur Jozkowicz

Artur brings an impressive coaching résumé, holding both USSF A and UEFA A Licenses. He played at Loyola Marymount University and has coached at AYSO United (Director of Coaching), Harvard Westlake High School, and Cal State LA. With a Master’s in Sports Sciences focused on soccer coaching, Artur creates a family-oriented, high-expectation environment to develop ethical, hardworking, and thoughtful athletes. He was inspired to join SoCal Reds because of the club’s clear vision and ambition to be among the best.

Favorite player: David Beckham – “His ability to bounce back from adversity with grace and determination.”

Favorite food: Quesadillas

Nick Diaz

Nick brings a strong playing background from Deportivo Berabevu in Argentina, Fullerton FJ, and Pateadores, as well as valuable coaching experience with top clubs like Slammers and Pateadores across NL, RL, and NPL levels. Holding a U.S. Soccer “C” License, Nick is passionate about creating a youth soccer experience that players will carry with them for life—one filled with growth, joy, and lasting memories. He’s thrilled to join SoCal Reds, inspired by Tim’s innovative leadership and Carlos’s ability to connect and lead people.

Favorite player: Messi – “He’s god.”

Favorite food: My dad’s BBQ
