Starting the year with a bang, B11 MLS Next has been named the team of the month for January! The squad showcased their skill and determination in a commanding victory over Strikers FC, a longtime competitor.
Strikers FC entered the match as a formidable opponent, having consistently tested SoCal Reds in past encounters. However, under the leadership of Coach Francis Davin, the B11 squad came prepared. Their success was built on disciplined training, tactical analysis, and a well-executed game plan. The team committed to an intense preparation period, refining their strategies through high-energy practices and in-depth study.
The victory is a testament to the team’s relentless work ethic and belief in their abilities. By staying disciplined in their preparation and executing their plan on game day, they achieved a result that had previously eluded them. Their performance secured a statement win and reinforced the values that define SoCal Reds FC—unity, commitment, ambition, and dignity.
The boys knew that we’d always played well but never managed a result against Strikers MLS Next previously. They committed to 3 high intensity practices and work off the field plus spent time analyzing the previous games vs Strikers on Trace. When they showed up for warmup, I already knew they would give a good performance. I asked them to be aggressive with and without the ball, brave to receive and composed in possession. We out-worked, out-dueled and gave 100% and it was a clear victory for SoCal Reds showing the core values of commitment and ambition
