SoCal Reds FC is proud to introduce a dynamic group of new coaches joining our PCA (Pre Club Academy) and Competitive teams. With diverse international experience, proven leadership, and a shared commitment to developing confident, creative players, this team brings a fresh energy to the club as we continue to raise the bar in youth development.

Callum Wood – Pre Club Academy Coach

A graduate of Plymouth Marjon University with a BA in Football Coaching and Development, Callum brings a wealth of knowledge from the UK, where he coached youth programs and delivered football education in schools and academies. He has extensive analysis and scouting credentials, and his recent experience includes coaching stints with Exeter City FC, Mount Pleasant FC in Jamaica, and Challenger Sports in the U.S. His democratic and engaging coaching style emphasizes active participation, critical thinking, and enjoyment—believing players grow best in fun, positive environments.
Favorite player: Neymar – for his expressive creativity
Favorite food: Fish & Chips
What he looks forward to: Helping SoCal Reds players thrive while growing professionally in a supportive and ambitious environment.

George Dunn – Pre Club Academy Coach

Holding a UEFA B License and multiple FA certifications, George has worked across coaching, goalkeeping, and performance analysis roles with clubs like Chelsea FC Foundation, Bolton Wanderers, and Leamington FC. His academic background includes a master’s degree in Football Coaching and Performance Analysis.

George values hard work, consistency, and fostering a winning mentality in every session.
Favorite player: Kevin De Bruyne – for his unmatched vision, consistency, and goal threat
Favorite food: Spaghetti Bolognese
What he looks forward to: Contributing to a club that prioritizes both development and community, while building strong relationships with players and staff.

Greg Marshall – Pre Club Academy Coach

Greg joins us from Scotland with a strong coaching pedigree, including experience at Hibernian FC and Hutchinson Vale. He holds the SFA C License and is a UEFA B License candidate. With a background in Physical Activity and Health, Greg emphasizes the connection between technical skills and tactical understanding.

Jack Williams – Pre Club Academy Coach

With seven years of coaching experience and qualifications up to UEFA B, Jack has worked as Head Coach at Little Players and Lead Coach at the Steven Gerrard Academy. His coaching philosophy centers around energy, enthusiasm, and giving players the freedom to express themselves without fear.

Favorite player: Tim Cahill (idol) and Lionel Messi (for technical brilliance and attitude)
Favorite food: Spaghetti Carbonara
What he looks forward to: Being part of a team of passionate, talented coaches at SoCal Reds.

Jarred Matthew – Pre Club Academy Coach

A versatile and passionate coach, Jarred brings a global perspective with certifications from the English FA, CAF, and PlayerMaker. With technical coaching experience across Africa, the UK, and the U.S., he is deeply committed to putting players first and developing their relationship with the ball.

Favorite players: Phil Foden, Kobbie Mainoo, Jude Bellingham – for their technical skill and creativity
Favorite food: Nachos
What he looks forward to: Being part of a club that values development over winning, while building players who are both skilled and joyful on the pitch.

Andy Barrero – Competitive Coach

Andy holds a US Soccer National D License and brings decades of experience across youth, college, and semi-pro levels. He’s coached at Mission Viejo Soccer Club, Cal State Fullerton, and the North York Astros in Canada’s CSL. He’s led teams at California Football Academy and Laguna United FC, and served as Jr. Girls Director at West Coast FC. Known for building players from the ground up, Andy’s coaching emphasizes technical ball mastery, creativity, and consistent work ethic—laying a strong foundation so players can express themselves and control the game.

Favorite Player: Diego Maradona & Carlos Valderrama (tie)

Favorite Food: Colombian Empanadas

What He’s Looking Forward To: “The club has been extremely welcoming. I’m very fond of the structure, the support from the Directors, and the coaching culture.”

Abdul Mansaray – Competitive Coach

Abdul’s background spans both grassroots and competitive soccer, including roles at Ontario Fury FC, Empire Strykers, Capo FC, FC Golden State North County, and several elite futsal programs like Ballers Elite and Toque Futsal. A former player at Wilmington University, he’s built his coaching around effort and resilience. Abdul challenges players to work hard every day and let their progress and success speak for itself—fostering a competitive yet supportive environment.

Gilberto Hernandez – Competitive Coach

With a US Soccer C License and leadership experience as a Youth Director at West Coast FC, Gilberto brings a holistic approach to player development. His coaching is rooted in using soccer as a vehicle to teach responsibility, discipline, and values that young athletes can carry into life. Gilberto is thoughtful, calm, and intentional—focusing not only on what happens during the game but on who his players become off the field.

Favorite Player: Andrés Iniesta

Favorite Food: Shrimp Fettuccine Alfredo
