SoCal Reds recently held a highly successful Coaches Training Night, bringing together 40 Academy and Competitive coaches for an evening of learning, collaboration, and development.
The workshop, led by the club’s Technical Director, Academy Directors, and Director of Coaching, focused on launching the official SoCal Reds FC DNA, a comprehensive approach to player development.
The evening began in the classroom, where the coaches were introduced to the core principles and key areas of player development that define SoCal Reds. The theoretical session laid out the foundation of the club’s philosophy and approach to nurturing young talent, focusing on each stage of development within the club’s four phases:
- Discovery Phase: “Focus on the fundamentals”
- Technical Phase: “Master the ball and develop a ‘LOVE’ of the game”
- Tactical Phase: “Learning how to make the right decisions on the field”
- Performance Phase: “Train to win the game and achieve your potential”
After the classroom session, the coaches transitioned to the field for a hands-on, practical component. This on-field session guided the coaches through the delivery process within each of the four phases, emphasizing how to implement these principles effectively during training.
