SoCal Reds FC is proud to recognize three standout athletes for April—players who have gone above and beyond in growth, leadership, and team impact.
Piper Murphy, G15 Pre GA Curry – Academy
Over the past several weeks, the G15 Pre GA Curry team has undergone a major transition from 7v7 to 9v9—a shift that demands greater tactical understanding, technical execution, and positional awareness, especially for the goalkeeper. Piper has embraced this challenge with maturity, courage, and a growth mindset.
As a goalkeeper, she has taken on a significant new responsibility in the team’s build-up play. Piper has shown incredible bravery by getting involved as an additional option in possession, helping maintain numerical superiority when playing out from the back. Her decision-making has improved tremendously; she’s demonstrated the ability to break lines and connect into midfield, while also showing sound judgment in knowing when to punt the ball to relieve pressure when necessary.
Piper’s progress in such a short time speaks volumes about her coachability, leadership, and commitment to her development. I’m incredibly proud of how she’s stepped up to this challenge and become a more complete player and leader on the field.

Jood Oliaei, G2012 Red Corpus – Girls
Jood is a model of leadership and intelligent play, well-deserving of this award.
Jood is new to the team but has quickly formed strong bonds with her teammates. She’s already demonstrating impressive leadership by using her skills and understanding of the game to help elevate those around her.
