LFC IA SoCal is pleased to announce that two colleges have recently secured two of the Academy’s promising athletes for the upcoming college season.

Izzy Hilbert – Hilbert College
Izzy is now committed to Hilbert College in New York! She fought hard to get to where she is today, including recovering from multiple injuries. Her proud coach, Ron Gonzales, saw how Izzy “did all the necessary recovery and physical therapy work to get back on the field to compete and grab the attention of multiple colleges.”
Izzy is a fantastic embodiment of ambition and commitment! Her determined mindset allowed her to overcome physical challenges. She ultimately decided on Hilbert College, which provided the play and education she sought.

Maya Cruz – Hamline University
Maya is a dynamic, creative midfielder with a very high soccer IQ. While joining Hamline University meant leaving the state and playing in a different climate, Head Coach Carlos Gonzales has complete confidence in Maya and her ability to continue to grow and develop as a student-athlete.
Coach Carlos said, “I have thoroughly enjoyed coaching Maya. She is very open to learning and applying coaching points and advice. She is a great team player and always committed to being there for the team, even though she lives far from practice and has to travel well over one hour round trip to and from practice.”
The Academy is proud to see how Maya has become equipped with the skill and character to grow in college soccer!
