It’s been a while… here’s what we’ve been up to recently.
Irvine Global Village Sponsor Event
Liverpool FCIA SoCal was recognized as a Kids Village Sponsor at the Irvine Global Village Festival Sponsor Banquet. The Global Village Festival is a huge event that takes place at the Orange County Great Park and celebrates Irvine’s diverse heritage and culture.
One of our coaches, Max Dolton, represented LFC IA at the Sponsor Recognition Banquet. He enjoyed fabulous food and was able to connect with other organizations in Irvine. The City of Irvine’s Mayor Khan gave a wonderful speech about diversity, culture, inclusivity, and unity. LFC IA SoCal received a certificate for contributing to Irvine’s commitment to celebrating its heritage and culture.
“It was great to be there! I spoke with a number of people about what we do in the community and was invited on stage to receive our certificate from Mayor Khan”
Max Dalton

All Stars Tournament
Our recreational winter program, All Stars, provides players the opportunity to compete against other recreational teams in California at a prestigious All-Stars tournament in Scripps Ranch, San Diego.
This year we had 2 champions and 3 finalists!!!

Finalists – Girls 2015 F3 Paul Anderson, Girls 2011 F3 Alex Sibelait, Boys 2015 F2 Scott Clachers
“She recently played in the Liverpool All Star Tournament and had the time of her life. Her coach for the tournament (Alex) was amazing (so positive and helpful), and the entire experience was very inspiring “
Steve M., Parent
“It was really good being able to see my girls compete against other clubs in a higher level rec tournament against older girls. It was a positive experience for my team and families as well as for me as a coach. Being able to travel outside of Irvine, the team bonding was fantastic”
Paul Anderson, Competative Coach

Kick Off Event
Staff and coaches got together to start 2023 by highlighting memorable moments from 2022 and to discuss our goals for the new season and beyond.
As a group, we discussed what Liverpool’s vision means to us as individuals and as an organization.
“To be the world leader in the development of children through football” goes beyond simply teaching how to play soccer, the vision is to develop them off the field as well as we do on the field. We want to create an environment where our players are not only challenged athletically but also create a space where their character can develop positively.
Some of our Goals for 2023 and beyond include:
- Grow as an organization – 75 teams!
- Relaunch Golf tournaments & events!
- Have our youth referee program fully support the recreational program!
- Launch our youth coaching program and develop coaches to support Junior Reds!
- Raise funds to support an indoor facility!
As a staff we want 2023 to be the year of FUN! We look forward to making playing soccer for Liverpool FC IA SoCal an experience like no other.

School Engagement Day
We have delivered our first School Engagement Days of 2023 recently.
Students at Lake Forest and Foothill Ranch Elementary schools were introduced to soccer and Liverpool FC with our awesome coaches Sam, Scott, Paul, Glenn, Nathan, and School Director, Max Dolton.
Each grade, K through Sixth grade got to play soccer during their school day, rotating every 30 minutes.

“Each coach kept their groups engaged and active throughout each session which resulted in positive feedback from the teachers and a great experience for the kids!
We look forward to our engagement days and giving students the experience of playing soccer and socializing with their friends through sport”
Max Dolton

Center of Excellence: Rec Program
Center of Excellence (C of E) is the Winter program that follows All-Stars. This year, all the kids were grouped by age to play games, jamboree style with different friends each week! Our goal was for our coaches, parents, and players to focus on development versus winning and having “the best team”.
“By taking away the pressure of negative competitiveness we are creating an environment where our players can learn to play the different positions and learn to adjust and play with different players. We look forward to seeing how our kids are impacted by this format of play“.
Jessica Di Donato, Community Programs Director Assistant

Coaches Call with LFC UK
LFC IA SoCal Coaches recently participated in the first of a series of phase and age-specific coaching calls with the Liverpool FC Academy Head Coaches in the UK.
This session was for the Youth Development Phase (U12-U16) and reinforces our understanding of current delivery methods at the academy in the UK, enabling us to provide authentic sessions to our players!

Skills Development Camp (SDC)
Camp Director, James Curry, and our competitive coaches hosted a 6-week camp on Friday evenings for kids in our community to come out and develop their skills. Kids ages 5-12 were able to play and have fun under beautiful sunset skies in one of our most popular camp programs, Skills Development Camp!
