The G06 and G10 Academy teams of LFC IA SoCal have secured their positions in the prestigious DPL National Championships after ending the season as DPL Southwest Conference League Champions! The national tournament was held in July at Cincinnati, where our representing Academy teams showcased their skill and played with the best of the best.
G06 earned the 2023 DPL Southwest Conference Championship titles for two consecutive seasons after scoring 76 goals with only 13 against! Meanwhile, G10 emerged victorious in 15 league games and became regional champions.
Following the ladies’ entry to the DPL National Championships, select players were invited to participate in an All-Star match. Remarkably, the Club had the highest number of representatives in the All-Star games, a testament to the talent nurtured. These athletes showcased their skills in the All-Star games:
- G06 Academy: Sophia G., Malaika F., Avery H., and Emma B.
- G10 Academy: Mako E., Kaylee H., and Sienna M.
The ladies had an incredible season of wins despite not having snatched the crown at the National Championships. Coaches Carlos Gonzales and Rob Harrison expressed pride in witnessing their young players’ tremendous growth, in skill and character, as a team.
Unfortunately the National Championship wasn’t to be this year as the team were knocked out in a head-to-head ruling. Nonetheless, a great season for this group who have grown together and built a reputation for themselves across the National DPL framework. We will be back again for 2023/24 season and hungrier for success!
